MAXAM goes large in Essen
“Reifen is a great show to both meet new prospects and catch up with existing customers"
Essen, May 30th, 2014
The biennial REIFEN 2014 show at Essen is one of Europe’s, and the world’s, premier, dedicated tyre exhibitions. This year Maxam Tire was one of the 650 exhibitors, showing no fewer than 24 tyres from the company’s comprehensive range of radial OTR, construction and industrial tyres.

One of the exhibits attracted a great deal of interest because of its sheer size; the hard-to-miss MS401 dump truck tyre, which has an overall diameter of 2.7 metres and weighs 1497 kg, proved a real show stopper.

Speaking after the show, MAXAM CEO Ian Thomas declared himself ‘delighted’ with the visitors’ response, saying: “We wanted to make a statement and to show the extent and variety of our range – 24 tyres is the largest number we have ever shown at one time and our stand was busy throughout the show.”

MAXAM was also at Reifen to do business, as is shown by the number of senior management manning the stand. In addition to Ian Thomas, stand personnel included Kevin Buckley, Sales Manager Europe; Peter Kraus, BDM Germany, Switzerland and Austria; Stefan Blindenberg, BDM France, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg and Anne-Gaëlle Halter, Marketing Coordinator. At busy times, these were complemented by MAXAM dealers from South America, UK and Australia. MAXAM’s presence was further enhanced by the fact that Kings Road Tyres – the exclusive MAXAM dealer for construction and industrial pneumatic tyres in the UK and Ireland – were exhibiting in the same hall.

“Reifen is a great show to both meet new prospects and catch up with existing customers,” said Ian Thomas, “we will certainly exhibit at the 2016 show.”
