MAXAM Tire North America – OEM Engineer

Summary / Objective

 We are seeking a skilled OEM Engineer to join our team. The OEM Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to our Original Equipment Manufacturer customers and assuring the products supplied conform to OEM standards. The successful candidate will have experience in product development, project management, and technical support.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Complete PPAP, APQP, First Article, and other OEM supplier certifications
  • Customer-facing representation for Maxam Tire on issues related to quality, field failures, and product performance
  • Assist with new product development, managing collaboration with OEM for specific requirements
  • Process OEM warranty claims; manage Corrective Action and 8D Analysis reports for product and manufacturing issues
  • Support customers by offering training on product offering and correct application
  • Monitor industry trends and identify new opportunities for product development
  • Conduct testing and analysis to ensure product performance and reliability, including field testing, performance benchmarking, and product validation

Travel

Domestic travel up to 50%.  Occasional international travel as needed.

  • Competence with Quality System tools and strategies (Data Analysis, Statistical Methods, Problem-Solving, Corrective Action)
  • Ability to pull, analyze, organize, and report on data relating to sales, warranty claims, applications, etc.
  • Working knowledge of common manufacturing processes and principles
  • Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, or ProEngineer
  • Must be hands-on and able to work in a dynamic work environment
  • Team Oriented, Positive Attitude, Multitask capability

Preferred Education and Experience

BS Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related field

3+ years of experience in a QC/QA, Field Engineer, Product Engineer or similar technical position
