EcoPoint³’s effect on reducing heat buildup
When it comes to forklift tires, heat buildup is a key contributor to tire failure. The lower the heat buildup, the more durable a tire can be*.
A good way to understand a forklift tire’s heat buildup is how well its endurance is and its rolling resistance. MAXAM Tire conducts our endurance test several ways, with the latest completed at TUV Endurance Testing center in Germany, a fully equipped tire testing facility that’s part of the network of reference tire testing laboratories in the EU. It’s been nominated as one of the best independent reference laboratories for rolling resistance.
To test EcoPoint3 compound’s impact on a tire’s heat resistance, seven tires were being tested at the TUV center, two of MAXAM Tire’s and five of competitors’. One of the two MAXAM tire’s contain EcoPoint3 , allowing for MAXAM to truly understand the compound’s ability in reducing heat buildup.
In TUV’s rolling resistance test, MAXAM’s material handling tire incorporated with EcoPoint3 shows 51% rolling resistance improvement compared to standard compound and 39% rolling resistance improvement compared to competitions. In addition, tires with EcoPoint3 showed a 35% increase in endurance improvement compared to standard compound and 12% increase compared to competitions.
In addition, in a similar test at TUV, MAXAM conducted a test of our standard tire with standard compound, a super-premium tire of competitor A, and our latest high-performance resilient tire, MS700, incorporated with the EcoPoint3 compound. The MS700 with MAXAM’s EcoPoint3 compound yielded 25% lower internal than the competitor tire tested.
