1. Agricultural tractor R-1, R-1W, or R2 Tires
Agricultural tires can be either radial construction or bias ply technology tires. The R-1W was originally designed as a fit between the R-1 and the R-2.
The R-1W has approximately 20% deeper tread than an R-1 and 20% less tread than the R-2. From front tractor tires to dual applications, The R-1W is a good all-around tire to use for general farming practices.

2. Implement I-1 I-3, or R-3 Tires

The I-3 tire is a traction tread with a bar-type tread similar to R-1 tires. These tires are primarily tubeless and found on self-propelled implements and ground-powered equipment.
The R-3 tread type is designed to minimize soil disturbance. The R-3 tread is typically 1/2 as deep as an R-1 tread, and it is best used for farming in sandy or volcanic ash soils. R-3 tires are commonly found on older grain carts and other implements carrying heavy loads.
3. Multipurpose farm tires or Agro-Industrial R-4 tires
A multipurpose farm tire is an R-4 tire that features a wider tread design for better traction. Delivering minimal soil disruption, even on soft turfs like moist soil or mud this tire uses a large, shallow tread that effectively cleans dirt and mud off to improve traction. Finally, R-4 tires are built for durability and are puncture-resistant, making them longer-lasting than most other R-series tires.

In all instances, to achieve the highest level of tire performance, farmers or growers must ensure that tire inflation pressures are set to the actual weight being carried by the tires based on the current axle load and as recommended by the tire manufacturer’s data specifications.
