Frequently Asked Questions
The common signs that it is time to replace your TBR tires is when you are seeing visible tread wear, uneven wear, tread depth below the recommended depth, any cracking, cuts or bulging on the sidewalls, and punctures in the tires that are beyond repair. It’s important to do regular maintenance checks on your tires, including making sure they are inflated to the recommended psi.
When selecting TBR tires, there are a few things you want to consider: Load capacity, application (long haul, mixed service, or regional), efficiency in both performance and fuel, and weather as it relates to road conditions. There are more finer details to consider as well, such as rubber compounding, tread and overall construction. These may seem like each manufacturer is the same, but they are not. For example, our proprietary EcoPoint3 compounding technology differentiates our tires and brings a new level of performance to TBR.
Proper maintenance of your tires is crucial to achieving longevity. You want to consistently inspect your tires for uneven wear, punctures, damage, psi and more. You should rotate the tires regularly based on the recommendation of your supplier. While there are many things you can do to ensure the longevity of your tires, these are some of the crucial steps.
Common issues with TBR tires include uneven wear, sidewall damage and heat build up. Consistent inspection of the tires, as well as rotating them to the manufacturers recommendation can help in avoiding these issues and extending the life of the tire.
Tire pressure is very important when it comes to the longevity and overall performance of your tires. When properly inflated, your tires have optimal contact with the road which can provide better traction, as well as improved fuel efficiency.
Underinflated tires provide the opposite. They lead to increased rolling resistance, higher fuel consumption due to a lack of efficiency and heat build up, which can result in blowouts. Overinflated tires lead to reduced traction, a less comfortable ride and uneven wear.
The first factor is the construction – radial construction reducing rolling resistance, which reduces the amount of energy required to keep the vehicle moving. Tread patterns and rubber compounding also matter. They can provide better traction and lower energy loss. Another factor is inflation. Properly inflated tires maintain optimal contact with the road, which helps improve fuel efficiency.
